The Busia County Senator Amos Wako has emerged as the silent Jubilee mole thriving within the top echelons of the National Super Alliance (NASA) and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Angaza News can authoritatively reveal.
This expose came after falling out with some of his party’s leaders to gravitate towards those directly and deeply embedded in Jubilee which secretly financed many non-jubilee candidates in Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega and Vihiga counties during the last general elections.
The senator’s involvement with Jubilee became obviously public during the same elections when he openly supported the immediate former Funyula legislator Paul Otuoma who was fighting for his political lifeline to capture the Busia County gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate after being trounced by the sitting governor Sospeter Ojaamong at the ODM party primaries.
According to a very reliable source though Jubilee had its own candidates competing for gubernatorial seats in Bungoma, Kakamega, Vihiga and Busia Counties, President Kenyatta singled Otuoma as one of the leaders who should be elected into office from the region to spearhead the revival of the ailing sugar industry.
Indeed Jubilee had its candidate gunning for the same seat in Busia County, Eng. Dan Barasa was clearly not getting massive support that was being channeled to Otuoma, just like Wako who had fallen out with Ojaamong was doing the same for the former Funyula legislator.
Wako’s support for Otuoma who has since declared openly to be a jubilee henchman in Busia County after years of denial was clearly exposed by the constant presence of one of his Aides a Mr. Chris Mugeni at Otuoma’s rallies throughout the county right from those for the ODM party primaries in the run up to the last general election all the way through to the August 8th, 2017 general elections.
At that time not wanting to expose himself as being in cahoots with Otuoma the Jubilee point man became his conduit in that direction not to mention the fact that there many night strategy meetings both at Wako’s home in Nang’oma of Matayos and Otuoma’s in Ebunandi of Samia.
It has also emerged that a few months before the last general elections the Busia County Senator had a lengthy secret meeting with President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto during which they had lengthy wide ranging discussions on political issues right from the county to the national level.
Considering Wako’s position in the ODM and the NASA coalition details of what transpired during that meeting in Nairobi where members of the media were not allowed have remained secret to this very date but they played a major role in influencing the direction the Busia County Politics took at the last general elections.
The other character who had previously vehemently denied ever being a Jubilee mole when he was Secretary General of ODM also from Busia County is Ababu Namwamba the immediate for Budalangi constituency legislator who eventually publicly declared his total involvement with Jubilee with his Labour Party of Kenya an association that eventually saw him ousted at the last general elections.
Indeed Wako is closely associated with his learned friend Namwamba including yet another Jubilee learned colleague of his from the region, former National Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende all of whom as well as Otuoma have officially publicly declared their commitment to campaign for President Kenyatta during the forthcoming repeat elections ordered by the Supreme Court.
This brings into question whether Wako who was re-elected Busia County Senator on an ODM ticket will publicly jump into the same Jubilee bandwagon to campaign for Kenyatta’s re-election at the forthcoming repeat elections? How will he effectively campaign for NASA’s candidate Raila Odinga when he is already deeply embedded with Jubilee operatives?
This will be an extremely interesting equation in Busia County where it is public knowledge that Wako fell out with Governor Ojaamong – will he swallow humble pie for the bigger national interest to join Ojaamong in campaigning for Raila as ODM luminaries from the county or will he expose his involvement with Jubilee?
Interestingly it has also emerged that one of the reasons Wako fell out with Ojaamong to support Jubilee’s Otuoma is that the Governor rejected appointing his brother Charles Wako as the Busia County Secretary and opted for the current one Nicholas Mulaku.
The most recent clear indications that Wako was a silent Jubilee mole in NASA happened last weekend when all the top notch Jubilee operatives met in Funyula to make preparations for the already fixed visit to that sub-county by Deputy President William Ruto on Monday September 18th, 2017 in Otuoma’s village of Ebunandi.
Though Wako did not attend in person the Ruto meeting in Funyula yesterday his representation and backing of the same was already clearly sealed and locked as his Aide was also present what now remains is how will he be playing the game with one foot in Jublee and the other in NASA?
