Huawei Service Centres Stealing From Unsuspecting Customers

The Huawei mobile handset service providers are creaming hundreds of thousands of shillings from ignorant un-suspecting customers who go to their service centres to fix their phones.

It has emerged that the technicians at the centres literally fail to identify the real problems of the customers’ handsets may be having but give the customers wrong information and advice on how to fix the problems.

In the process the customers are forced to fork out money amounting not less than Kshs. 1, 000 for zero service and also purchase expensive spare parts for their phones when the parts being replaced are still totally in good condition.

The most affected are the Huawei touch screen smart phone models of handsets which when they hung and are taken to these Huawei Service centres outlets to be fixed the Huawei technicians hoodwink the customers who do not know how the problems can be fixed.

After tampering with the handsets, the customers end losing vital data and documents that they may have saved on their handset with no compensation forthcoming from these centres.

A classic example emerged last weekend when Angaza News boss, Joseph Barasa took his Huawei P8- Lite handset which had hung for fixing.

After handing over the handset to one of the technicians at the Huawei Service Centre on Cambria House 1st floor Moi Avenue opposite Mt. Kenya University and describing the problem it was having, he was forced to wait for nearly two hours.

Hoping that the problem would be fixed, instead when the technician came back told him that the problem was with the mother board of the phone which needed replacement with a new one for it to function.

“The bottom line is the fact that nothing had been fixed at all and the meddling the technician had done on it made lose many valuable documents and data that I had saved on the handset and still they demanded Kshs.500 from me to pay which I refused,” said Mr. Barasa.

He says that he was completely surprised to find that another individual at the shop where he had bought the handset took only a few seconds of touching the screen and the handset was completely fixed to its former self.

Barasa had gone to the shop to buy a non-touch screen handset and return the Huawei one back to the Huawei Service centre at Cambria House for fixing which means  having been forced to go extra expense, time wasted, data lost and the handset just completely messed up.
