Agriculture Finance Corporation (AFC) Managing Director Lucas Meso has called on Governor Sospeter Ojaamong to allow the people of Busia the freedom to choose their Governor come 2022 without interference.
Meso said that it was sad listening to Ojaamong chest thumb on how he will determine on who becomes the next governor for Busia in the next General elections.
The MD was reacting to remarks made recently by Governor Ojaamong where he was quoted saying that he shall make sure that any leader criticising his administration does not make it to any position in the County.
“The people of Busia elected Governor Ojaamong to serve them so as his term comes to an end he should also give others a chance to be elected democratically and keep off from succession politics”, Meso said.
“We have all our machinery in place at the grassroots ready for 2022 to ensure that all those busy criticising me and my administration do not get anything in this County” Ojaamong was heard saying.
Meso who will be retiring to contest for the gurbernatorial seat for Busia County said it was not his business to criticise any leader but said that everyone shall be judged basing on what they did for their people.
