Embattled Kitui Governor H.E Charity is not taking anything by chance over a looming impeachment debate in the county assembly.
It has been established that the Governor together with more than 17 MCAs congregated overnight at Ngilu’s Ithookwe home on friday at 10pm. The aim of the meeting was to lobby support for Ngilu to survive the impending impeachment motion on Monday.
Of the 17 MCAs, 12 were from NARC, 2 from Wiper Party and 3 Independent MCAs.
The MCAs included Hons. James Musyoka alias Katimba- Kiomo Kyethani Ward, Hon Masaku – Mutomo Kibwea Ward, Mary Philma – Mwingi Central Ward, Ndisya Lusa – Kanyangi Ward and Kasee Musya alias Ben10 – Kisasi Ward.
The meeting was addressed by Gov. Ngilu, Hon. Nganga and Hon. Kasee. Hon. Kasee assured Ngilu that he would try to buy more MCAs and promised to shoot down the motion once it is tabled in the house. There are claims that those present cited Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka as the stumbling block to Kitui County’s development.
