Police in Nambale have rescued a form one girl from the hands of her two male colleagues who had locked her in a room in Nambale town.

Immaculate Nabwire (not her real name) a student at Nambale Urban mixed secondary school in Busia County left her home on Sunday after she was quarreled by the father before being accosted by one of the boys while at Nambale town who later took her to a friend’s house.

After waiting up to 7.30pm and not seeing any signs of Nabwire returning home, the mother sensed that something was not right so he called the husband to alert him that their daughter was missing.

So they immediately started looking for her only to be told by a neighbor that the girl had been spotted in Nambale town with some young man.

The parents decided to seek the help of the local police from Nambale Police station who immediately launched a manhunt only to find where the girl had been hidden by the two boys.

When seeing the police the two boys took off and disappeared into a maize plantation but the girl was rescued.

The girl was taken to Nambale sub district hospital for examination before being taken back to school the following day.

But in a twist of events the parents say that after explaining to the Deputy Principal Elizabeth Otindo what had befell their daughter she instead send her away.

When we seek to find out what could have contributed to Otindo’s actions, a teacher who didn’t want to be mentioned for fear of being victimized also wondered why the Deputy Principal decided to send the child home instead of talking to her and giving counseling.

The teacher revealed that such cases were not strange and we have even had more serious ones at this school and Nabwire was not exceptional.

“Didn’t you even hear on Radio of cases where some parents were complaining about how the school was forcing the students of both sexes to share a room in Nambale town for them to prepare for exams”,? the teacher asked.

Parents are now appealing to CS Amina Mohammed to intervene saying that their daughter was being subjected to unnecessary punishment by the school’s administration instead of appreciating the fact that the girl had been rescued from the hands of two boys who might have hurt her.

” We don’t know why our daughter has been asked to stay home by Mrs Otindo that’s why we are appealing to Madam Amina to come to her rescue”, said the girl’s mother adding that the future of the girl risk being ruined since she had missed a lot.

Angaza News has so far established that the girl was being forced to pay for her father’s sins who is said to have opposed plans by the School’s administration to raise Ksh 1.5million from parents at an AGM to build one single classroom.

“My daughter is being victimized for one simple reason that I opposed their plans to steal from poor parents Ksh 1.5million where each parent was being asked to part with Ksh3000 in a school of about 600 students to build a single classroom”, said the girl’s father.
