Renowned activist Boniface Mwangi has declared that he will be vying for Starehe parliamentary seat after a series of engagements with the government due to his activism.
“I will not join ODM nor Jubilee none of those two parties speak for me. I am not going to campaign on party or tribal lines. We cannot change Kenya using the same old tricks. Watch this space…! It’s not all about winning so expect me to use a different approach,” he said.
He spoke in Nairobi during the launch of his Book Unbounded.
The veteran photojournalist who has been in and out of trouble with the government runs PAWA 254 an organisation that promotes local talents in Music and Art.
This comes a day after he confessed on a national TV station that he has no ambition to venture into politics.
Mr Mwangi was recently sued by the Deputy President for defamation after he tweeted that the DP wanted to kill him like he killed Jacob Juma a controversial Nairobi business man.
