Residents Accuse West Kenya Sugar For Financing Jubilee

Imported Sub-Standard Sugar At Kibarani

Residents of Busibwabo in Matayos Constituency of Busia County are now calling on NASA leader Raila Odinga to include West Kenya Sugar in his black book which they accused of funding Jubilee.

The residents said that it was now in the public domain that West Kenya was minting billions of shillings by importing sub-standard sugar to finance Jubilee activities through some local and high ranking Jubilee politicians.

The residents who spoke to Angaza News through their spokesman Peter Rapando, also accused Paul Otuoma for hiring goons who brutalized the locals a few days to the October 26 Presidential repeat elections where several people were maimed and at least 10 bodaboda motorbikes destroyed.

” According to the records in our possession West Kenya Sugar did not qualify to set up a factory in Busia so from the look of things they just want t to hoodwink the Busia people that they had put up a mill while in real sense the structure at Olepito area in Tangakona is just meant to be used as a collection centre to poach cane”, said Rapando.

The irate residents said that if NASA supporters were to be asked to boycott some products then Kabras Sugar should top the list since its clear that West Kenya had been allowed by government to import sub-standard sugar so as to make billions at the expense of their lives something they vowed to resist at all cost.

“We are therefore sending a very strong warning to the Rai’s to pack and go before they are pushed out by force”, he said.

They also accused Jubilee government for using AFFA which is the sugar regulator to kill the industry by defending West Kenya even after the former Acting CEO Rosemary Mkok had written to Rai asking him to stop constructing a mill at Olepito since he had not followed the due process.

” This man Rai is just fond of going to court to block Busia Sugar Industries from operating so that he can monopolize the sector. We therefore want to bring to his attention that his days are numbered”, Rapando said.
